A morning workshop exploring this sometimes-elusive aspect of human life. Many people have a natural desire for peace, happiness, and stillness in life, perhaps a sense of being centred. Especially as external situations in the world seem to be getting more turbulent. The great wisdom traditions of the world teach that peace, happiness, and stillness are naturally available to us in all situations, however, accessing these desired states may be difficult without knowledge, experience, and practice.
So, at the workshop we shall:
- Practice a mindful awareness exercise.
Discuss:
- How we lose a sense of peace and stillness.
- How we can regain it and maintain it.
- The benefits of creating time to be still and peaceful.
- The healthy effects this has on the physical body in general, the brain, and the mental/emotional aspects of our being.
- The historical common naturalness of meditation in human life,
- The different types of meditation.
The workshop will be on Sunday 30th June at Walker Memorial Hall, 18, Ampton Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, from 10:00 to 13:00 and will be run by David Nock.
LIMITED NUMBERS (reserve your place here)
If you are interested I recommend early enrolment as these events do tend to be quite popular and we have to hold the numbers at approximately 20 due to the size of the room.
