‘Balance – To Simply Be’ Workshop
at Third Floor, 9-10 Frederick Rd, Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 1JD
On Sunday 15th March 2020, 9:30am to 4:00 pm
Cost £25 including vegetarian buffet lunch and all refreshments
Tea and coffee will be available from 9am till 9.30am before the workshop begins, please arrive in good time.
Everyone is invited, including family and friends.
The idea of the termly workshop/study day is to give students an opportunity to meet together in good company, apply the practicalities of philosophy that have been presented during the term, hear more material and with the practical experience gained to take things a little deeper and therefore gain useful insightful knowledge.
The overall theme for the day this term is ‘Balance – To Simply Be’
Throughout the day we shall:
- Practise an extended version of the mindful awareness exercise.
- Study a universal holistic model of human being.
- Discuss what takes us out of balance and how it may be regained.
- See a YouTube video of the transformational effect a stroke had on an eminent American neuroscientist.
- We will have a discussion on the right hand/left hand brain and the part these play in Mindfulness and Meditation practices
- We will show a short video of an international educational advisor talking about creativity and education.
- See a video of a School professional artist and explore what it means to allow practical philosophy inspire creativity
- Simple practical activities offered to help us explore all this and raise our awareness – this will be subject to time constraints and weather.

LIMITED NUMBERS
For practicalities of room size numbers will be limited to 30. The tutor will be David Nock with the help of a few other students of the school.
Doors will open at 9am for registration, coffee and biscuits. You can reserve your place by enrolling below.
