The wise tell us that the universe is full of Truth, Consciousness and Bliss and that all three are ever present. Why is it then, that this isn’t always apparent to us?
Happiness was the theme of our second term, and the day will provide the opportunity to take this enquiry further through both discussion and various practical exercises and allow a better understanding into the true meaning of this vast subject.
Everybody wants to experience and BE happy, all pursue it through various means, this is what makes the creation tick-over and creates the drama. However, our philosophical enquiry should encourage us to investigate into the source and nature of happiness and why we feel the need to chase something that is ever-present.
Some obvious questions are:-
- What makes us happy/unhappy
- What is true happiness and how may it be experienced?
- What is the true and full meaning and our understanding of complete bliss?
The day will be very light with an easy approach and proceed as follows:-
The programme for the day is:-
09:00 – enrol and tea/coffee
09:30 – explore Shantananda Saraswati’s quotes referring to happiness
10:30 – tea/ coffee
10:50 – some practical exercises to explore the source and nature of true happiness
12:10 – all meet to discuss observations etc
12:45 – vegetarian lunch
13:45 – further enquiry and discourse
15:00 – afternoon tea
15:15 – meet to review day
15:45 – 16:00 depart
The cost for the day, including vegetarian lunch is £25 and all refreshments.
Please bear in mind that although these workshops are obviously optional they are also part of the course from the point of view of Self-discovery and spiritual growth, so I can only encourage you to take advantage of these unique, transforming and blissful days. The day will be run by Steve Davy & Darren Wagstaff.
The effect of a day like this is always light, peaceful and uplifting and it is a marvellous opportunity to practice philosophy.
